Dr. Hui Li is an assistant research professor and extension specialist at Composite Materials and Engineering Center at Washington State University. His research lies in the mass timber processing, manufacturing, and engineering wood adhesive bonding qualification and kinetics. Besides, his research also focuses on lignin chemistry and polymerization, bio-based polymer, shape memory polymer. Furthermore, he has involved in the composite recycling research for years in terms of aerospace carbon fiber recycling and end-of-life wind turbine blade recycling and development of value-added new products thereof. His industrial outreach activity involves in composite recycling, mass timber processing and manufacturing (building carbon sequestration), bio-based fuel and polymer/composite. He has finished several dozens of industrial-oriented projects.
